Marketing planner 2027: what it is, what’s inside, and how to choose one
If you’ve typed “marketing planner 2027” into Google, you probably already know a normal diary isn’t cutting it. You don’t need somewhere to write the dentist. You need somewhere to plan how you’re going to get customers.
I’ve been making marketing planners for small business owners since 2017. Here’s what a marketing planner is, what a good one has inside, and how to pick the right one for 2027.
What is a marketing planner?
A marketing planner is a planner for the marketing side of your business. It helps you decide what you’re selling each month, how you’ll tell people about it, and whether it worked.
A diary tells you what day it is. A business planner usually covers goals and to-do lists. A marketing planner is more specific: it’s about getting seen and making sales.
Marketing planner or marketing calendar?
A marketing calendar is the dates: when you’ll run your sale, when Mother’s Day is, when you’ll launch something new. It’s really useful, and I’ve put together the key marketing dates for 2027 to help you build yours.
A marketing planner includes a calendar, and adds the rest: your sales target, a plan for each month, your social media plan, your money, and a place to look back at what worked.
What a good 2027 marketing planner should have
Your numbers at the front
How much do you want to sell in 2027? A good marketing planner asks that first, then breaks it into months. Once you know what you need to sell, you know how much marketing you need to do.
Your promotions for the whole year
Sales, launches, offers, busy seasons. When they’re all on one page, you can see the gaps and plan ahead, rather than remembering Black Friday on the Thursday.
A plan for every month
Not a blank page. A few questions: what are your customers thinking about this month, what are you selling, and how will you tell people?
A social media plan
Social media is where most small businesses get seen. A marketing planner should give you a simple place to plan your posts each month, so you’re not staring at your phone wondering what to say.
Your money next to your marketing
When your cash flow sits beside your marketing plan, you can see which marketing brings money in.
Check-ins
Every few months, stop and look at what worked. Do more of that. Drop what didn’t.
Help to keep going
Most planners are lovely in January and forgotten by March. A book can’t remind you. Training, an app and other people doing it alongside you are what keep it open.

Your questions
What is a marketing planner?
A marketing planner is a planner for the marketing side of your business: what you’re selling each month, how you’ll tell people about it, and whether it worked. A diary holds your appointments. A marketing planner holds your plan to get customers.
Is a marketing planner the same as a marketing calendar?
A marketing calendar is one part of it: the dates you’ll promote things. A marketing planner adds your sales target, a plan for each month, your social media plan and somewhere to check what worked.
Is the Awesome Marketing Planner dated?
Yes. It runs from January to December 2027, with 2027 at a glance at the front and 2028 at a glance at the back.
When do pre-orders close?
Pre-orders close on Sunday 8th November. Planners are printed to order and posted in December.
