Paper planner or app? Why the 2027 Awesome Marketing Planner is both
Every year the same question: paper planner or app? I’ve always been a paper girl. But I’ve also got my phone in my hand far more than I’d like to admit! So for 2027, I stopped choosing.
What a paper planner is brilliant for
- Thinking. Writing by hand slows you down, in a good way. Big decisions (what to sell, what to drop) feel clearer on paper.
- Seeing the whole picture. Open a monthly spread and your month is right there, all at once.
- No distractions. No notifications pinging while you plan.
- It’s lovely. Let’s be honest: a beautiful planner on your desk makes you WANT to open it.
What an app is brilliant for
- Ticking things off on the go. Posted from the school car park? Tick it there and then.
- Numbers. An app can add up your sales and draw you a chart. Paper can’t.
- Nudges. A reminder on Monday morning to plan your week.
- Ideas when you’re stuck. A quick look for what to post, email or film.
The problem with choosing one
Choose paper only, and it stays on your desk while you’re out living your life. Choose an app only, and you lose the calm, big-picture thinking (and the app gets buried on page three of your phone).
Use both, and each one covers the other’s weak spot.
How the Awesome Marketing Planner does both

On paper: the A5 hardback planner
Midnight blue with gold foil, printed endpapers and a bright pink ribbon. Inside: your 2027 in numbers, your promotions for the year, a monthly bundle for every month (calendar, focus, marketing plan, money plan, social media plan and daily cash flow), weekly pages with room for every day and your win of the week, and quarterly check-ins.
In your pocket: the planner app (new for 2027)

- Your numbers: your sales target broken down by month, your sales each week, and a chart of your year
- My cash flow: the money in and out
- What I sell: your products, services and offers, with your bestsellers at the top
- Your visibility challenge and marketing streak: like Duolingo, but for your marketing
- Ideas when you’re stuck, with fresh ideas for every month
- Quizzes like the Super Customer quiz, and the Sales Train training
- A nudge every Monday to plan your week
And the parts that keep you going
- 🎓 The Planner PortalMy training videos for every page. Scan a QR code in the planner and you’re straight there.
- 👭 The Facebook groupPlan alongside other women in business. Yours as soon as you pre-order.
- 👢 The Monday Bum KickAn email from me every Monday with one thing to do that week.
- 🖍️ The ExtrasWorksheets, extra resources to print, and colouring sheets.
That’s six parts in all: the printed Planner, the Planner Portal, the planner app, the Facebook group, the Monday Bum Kick and the Extras.
Comparing other options? I’ve put the different kinds side by side in 2027 planners compared.

Your questions
Is a paper planner better than an app?
For thinking and planning, many people find paper better: it’s slower, calmer and easier to remember. For ticking things off, reminders and numbers, an app wins. That’s why the Awesome Marketing Planner System includes both.
What size is the Awesome Marketing Planner?
A5 hardback, so it fits in your bag.
When does the planner app open?
The planner app opens in December, with the Planner Portal, so you can set up your year before January.
