Goal planner 2027: how to set business goals you’ll actually reach
Setting goals in January is easy. Remembering them in May is the hard bit. Here’s how to set business goals for 2027 that you’ll still be working on at the end of the year.
1. Start with one money goal
You can have lots of goals. But for your business, start with one: how much do you want to sell in 2027? Write the number down. It doesn’t have to be huge. It has to be real.
2. Break it into months
A year’s target feels enormous. A month’s target feels doable. Split your number across the twelve months, and think about your busy and quiet times while you do it. If December is always your best month, give it more.
3. Decide what you’ll sell to get there
How many of each thing do you need to sell to hit your number? Write it down. Now your goal isn’t a wish, it’s a plan.
4. Plan your marketing month by month
Every sale starts with someone hearing about you. For each month, decide what you’re selling and how you’ll tell people: social media, emails, events, word of mouth. If you need help with this, read how to plan your marketing for 2027.
5. Write down your wins every week
A new customer, a lovely review, a post that got people talking. Write one down every week. On the hard days, you’ll have proof that it’s working.
6. Check in every three months
At the end of March, June and September, stop and look. Are you on track? What worked? What didn’t? Change the plan if you need to. Goals aren’t set in stone.
7. Get some help to keep going
Most goals don’t fail because they were wrong. They fail because life gets busy and they get forgotten. A reminder every week and other people working on their goals alongside you make a big difference.
